HONORABLE MENTIONS -

swampfoot4mile.com

Swampfoot 4 Mile is an all out foot race packed with over 20 obstacles! The race will be held at Rattle Run Farms, a 200 acre working farm in Saint Clair, Michigan. Swampfoot 4 Mile will be benefiting the Liberty Riders Handicapped Horseback riding program.

Swampfoot 4 Mile was created by John Cook and Kurt Brinker who wanted to produce a race like no other. The course created blends a cross-country foot race with obstacles similar to those found in military style confidence courses.

Rattle Run Farms hosts Liberty Riders, Inc. which is a non-profit therapeutic riding program dedicated to teach children and adults with disabilities how to ride horses and experience riding activities.

reallylivingcorp.org

The Really Living Corporation is a charitable organization that helps those with terminal and debilitating illnesses, who are uninsured or under-insured. We provide free transportation to and from medical treatments, as well as serve as a resource center for emergency assistance and other living necessities not covered by insurance or benefits. Statistical data, tells us that forty percent of the three hundred million people in this country are uninsured or under insured. But we didn’t need the newspaper to tell us that. Each and every one of us has a loved one, friend or neighbor who’s having a medically related hardship. Our aim is to ameliorate some of these conditions. Through our resource center, we will assist these patients who require help paying for prescriptions, co-pays , food , bills and much more. The goal of our organization is to make life a little easier for those of us who are really suffering and could use a helping hand.

Our primary focus is giving immediate aid to those in need. But in the near future, we would like to offer some counseling and social work options. Really Living knows all too well how an unexpected diagnosis can be devastating both mentally and emotionally. We would like to provide those who need it, with someone to talk to.

We would also like to start providing some dietary and fitness information. Eating properly and exercise in any form, can drastically improve the quality of life.
