Second Chance at Life is proud to provide financial assistance to individuals pre- or post-transplant through one of our three assistance programs. We also provide funding to the emergency funds at Transplant Centers throughout Michigan.
Medical/Co-Pay Program
Second Chance at Life (SCAL) is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping organ transplant patients throughout the state of Michigan. As transplant costs add up before, during and after the transplant, SCAL seeks to provide financial assistance to transplant patients who must rely on multiple sources to aid in the financial burden associated with an organ transplant. SCAL has developed the Medical/Co-Pay Program to provide organ transplant patients in need, temporary financial assistance up to a lifetime maximum of $1,000. The one-time grant will go toward non-Medicare costs such as pre and post-op medical bills and co-pays as it relates to transplant recipients. This Program is entirely funded by individual and corporate sponsors, with the designated grant going to those deemed as most in need, as voted on by the SCAL Board of Directors.
